Cleaning dirt from our steering wheels?
Hey guys. I have a spot on my tan e63 wheel and I’m wondering what do you use to get it out OR is it not dirt, but just worn down? It doesn’t feel or look like it’s worn. I’ve tried mild interior and leather cleaners without success. Scared to go much further and experiment—I’ve never had a wheel with this shiny type of finish on it. Anyone have any luck?
while I’m at it, any tips of cleaning the dirty suede on the shifter?
thanks!

Unfortunately that looks like wear. The best product for cleaning/condition leather is called Leatherique - but beware, it's expensive and you must follow their protocol. I do not think it will help your issue though

Get a quality microfiber rag. Try cleaning it with it wet with straight water. If that doesn't clean it try mixing Dawn dishwashing liquid and water and repeat.
My Silverado truck steering wheel was dirty and that cleaned.

Like others have said, mild detergent soap first. Then go to a Dremel Tool If it is indeed worn, their is leather dye that you can buy to restain it. Or just make an appointment at your dealership, they have people there that handle these types of things.
