I think that's pretty decent.. the best i can tell is I'm getting ~19.XX with combined driving. What kind of puts me in a hole MPG wise each morning is I have to climb a decent hill to get out of my neighborhood. So I'm playing catch-up the rest of the day. I'll give it a bit of a poke when I merge onto the freeway.. but nothing more than maybe 1/2 throttle.. but I just cruise it mainly. This is just going off of the miles/time since start.. this seems to reset each morning.. SoI'm just going off of that. lol

strict freeway driving with my E63 without traffic...at 75-85mph i'm logging 19-21mpg

if i drive at 65-70mph, without traffic i see 22-24mpg

if i drove only at 65mph, i'm sure i could see 24-25mpg

mixed driving i'm at 14-19mpg

the problem with California is the grade changes consistently so it is very difficult to get uber good MPG as seen by others in flatter states. also going with 10mm wider tires all around dropped my MPG about 1.5 MPG.

If you want fun and good MPG, W210 E55 is a good choice. Lighter than W211 with 349Hp average freeway i got 27 mpg.
When you did the headers and tune, did you also do injectors? If you did do injectors then your trip computers are no longer accurate. I found that even the trip computers: "After Reset" and "After Start" were not accurate and often 1-2 mpg off from hand calculating off the odometer. I've been tracking every single fuel up with the following process:

Log the mileage and MPG on from the "After Reset" menu
Log the odometer
Reset both the "After Reset" and "After Start" menus
Fill up tank
Record how many gallons it took to fill it up
Calculate MPG using the mileage from the recorded "After Reset" menu
Calculate MPG using the mileage calculated from subtracting the previous odometer reading from the current odometer reading

Yea its kind of OCD but I like having data on my cars, it helps to establish a performance baseline so that if things start to deviate I've got records and logs of when things started to go wrong.

I have had 3 eurocharged tunes on 3 different AMG's, the mileage improved slightly for all of them (when driving sensibly). Just their regular tune, nothing focused on better mileage.

Right now I'm getting anywhere between 16-18 mpg actual which is a mostly a 25 mi each way commute. Avg speed in the AM is about 65mph and maybe 35-40 mph in stop and go in the PM. My mileage *was* better before the headers and injectors but only by maybe 1-2 mpgs. The best I've done so fare was 20mpg actual on a long road trip. I didn't do injector only header and tune. The most accurate is fill the tank drive it and refill it and miles/gallon. My best to Fremont 360 miles trip about 22mpg.

I'm about to fill up, I *think* I'm at like 307 miles, and I have 1/4 tank left. I;m reasonably sure I can get to 360. But I can still do the same math.. filling up now. lol

I guess my stock car baseline is 18.6 mpg, and this is combined, with commuting along what's been rated the worst stretch of road in the country for traffic.

I went 327.9 miles and was able to stuff 17.55 gallons in the tank.

When I owned mine an '06 back in 2010, I never did more than 12/13 MPG over a period of 3 years of my ownership. Was it hard on the wallet yes. did it give me the biggest grin every time I drove it, you bet ... MPG never bothered me but the tires sure did
