Sorry I'm confused?? I just got pulled over for a low beam out. My car has stock halogens with an HID conversion on the low beams, that's why no warning on the dash. It already takes the H7 bulb but if I remember right it is 55 watts Does the converter box come with the bulbs, and will it give the right resistance to keep the dash happy?
Oh, and how do you like them?

Is the light source on the LED at the proper point for the reflector? Your pic shows it to be some distance from the focal point that the OEM halogen looks to be at. How's the light pattern?

Yeah the LED is a little further out, not too bad. It concentrates the light more on the road, rather than the tree tops. The reflector is not made for all the lumens, so the light pattern is going to be tweeked any way you do it. I was just looking to improve the halogen performance, which it does.

Here's a crappy iphone vid. It doesn't do the light' any justice. Really need a side by side comparison with the stock set-up.

I got all the parts and started working on it yesterday. I think I ran into one of the few differences between E and CLS. My bulb sockets aren't even similar. Mine has a stainless steel clip that holds the bulb in. I will have to grind the hole bigger to make it work, but I can't find replacement clips in case it doesn't work out. If anyone wants to try this, I have 2 sets of those BMW sockets that are of no use to me.

Love my new LED brights. Instant on and much brighter than halogens. I upgraded my HID low beams while I was at it. Smaller, cooler looking igniters and new bulbs.
Sockets are in the mail Vincheung. There's not enough money involved here to bother with. My loss is your gain. I'm the kind of person who tries new ways of doing things constantly. Sometimes it pays off big time, sometimes it's an expensive lesson. This was neither.

Xtreme vision bright white, I think they are 5000k. A touch bluer than I prefer, but close enough. IIRC it's either 4300 or 4500 that looks pure white.
Thanks Pmarino for blazing the trail on this! My install wasn't anything like yours, I had to pull the whole front of the car apart to get the headlights out and fit everything on the bench. None of those clips were right, I ended up gluing the LED's in. Something I don't recommend, because I'll have to do it all over again when the LED's die. Hopefully far down the road from here.
