My thoughts exactly.

Alex had always been open about his sponsorship with VRP and FCP. Hardly a revelation. Both are great vendors. Sounds like newe55guy is very insecure and has to prove something to all of us.

You're a tool.
Alex has contributed a lot to the E55 community and you haven't done anything.

Alex gets nothing for "Free" Each Video Takes hours of care, planning and work. Alex has done a terrific job with his channel and helped to educate the community. There is a reason why the 55k platform is advancing so quickly, and Alex is part of that.

Would you rather have no videos at all? Alex might be one of the most important members of this community.

Anyone in business knows this.

My question to you is: IF the feedback coming from Alex is bad, how does that influence you as the business to get better?

There have been times where Alex's feedback has led to us improving instructions, including or changing components in kits, and making modifications to products to simplify or improve them for the customer. His feedback has been very helpful on multiple occasions. Alex tells it like it is.

So when going to a smaller pulley like a 74mm or 72mm is there a more abrupt clutch engagement when the supercharger kicks in?

Other cars don't use clutches. For that reason there is much smoother power delivery. Other cars don't seem to have steady state cruise IAT issues.

Try and imagine someone who expects respect for lucky investment over people who find success through hard work and commitment.

I know which one I'd rather be.

Assuming he's even telling the truth, I can't cringe hard enough at how much he must ooze that "new money" vibe. Now try and imagine the people who choose to be around that type of person.

The "fixed pulley" really isn't anything to be weary of. Many moons ago, I used to drive a mustang with a 15lb vortech s-trim everyday. In the years there weren't intercoolers.. you just ran the thing, with a silly "calibrated" FMU. lol Complete dinosaur stuff to what is had today. If you were just cruising... it's not really building boost or heat.

I wonder if the blower OEM was designed for constant use. My brother has an SLK55 with a Kleeman Blower package and at ~60,000 miles he needed a blower rebuild,ie. new bearings etc. Now his blower is basically a Magnason unit modified by Kleeman so a little apples to oranges but. It will be interesting to see how the fixed set up lasts over time. The chatter at idle would drive me nuts though.

Clutch

There seems to be some confusion about the clutch...

Due to the continuous tightening covenant of the European fuel economy rules, AMG had to find alternative ways to reduce fuel consumption and do so in the face of stricter emissions rules. https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwin.../#67e034e6134a

During idle, the SC becomes slightly HP parasitic and therefore lowering fuel economy. That's it...

Sans clutch is the way to IMHO...

Yes, any pulley RPM increase whilst at idle will cause a harsher engagement.

Another good argument to trash the clutch... I did years ago...

Also, Trolls... Don't feed them. From www101...

How many miles have you put on the blower from the time you switched over to the non clutch set up? Any other issues? How harsh can it be??? Maybe I'll end up dumping the clutch.

I keep the clutch due to the fact of the racing I do....would rather not have it but...…... Want everything nice and cool while waiting to make my run. Also the ice tanks sit ide with pumps off until go time.

Just installed fixed last week, freeways fuel consumption seems about the same as having clutched but city mileage sucks! 10-13 mpg in city where 21 mpg on a 20 mile roundtrip on freeway. One reason I switched to fixed is cause my clutched took a dump on me last week as well after nearly a year of usage.

For fixed and Clutch delete pulley we would ONLY recommend RaceIQ. Unfortunately none of the other tuners are able to properly tune for the removal of the clutch pack. We sell other tunes aswell, but only IQ for Fixed and clutch delete
