pump issues and confusion

i got a 04 e55 im pretty sure my pumps are dieing, i used a fuel pressure tester but its old so i wanna make sure, it read 65lbs idle and my cars like dead breakup bad on wot, no cell. i have mostly evrything(full exhaust split cooled 82mm on eurocharge tune and a 4 inch singe side intake with a 6inch canister filter, i just want to make sure the tune doesnt mess with the line pressure. and i cant find the pump relay to save my life? on the pass side of my trunk, 1 relay, guessing for the air canister, and fuse no 4 is 7.5 amps? the ****s going on with my car, any help greatly apricaite before i drop money on the pumps, recalled 2 years ago not even 20k find odd there broken warrenty ended in october apparently. and i did the intake in the dead heat of summer, it was 60deg this morning i thought maybe i need it tuned, i put the stock one back on, better but still bad. i want to confirm pumps, were the hell is my relay? did they update the system 2 years ago or somthing?

On the 04’s, the fuel pump relay is on the passenger side (LHD) of the trunk behind the trunk lining. You can actually see it sometimes through the hole that the trunk “strut” or whatever goes through. It’s just a black box. Yours is definitely back there unless the previous owner somehow relocated it lol

believe me brother its not there, no fuses and no relay except for the air canister, ive been wokring on cars for 10 years, i just need to try to see if this things burning up if i can find it so confusing, i allready went ahead and orderd a fuel filter ill be cutting that open and replacing it this week its most likley the issue but... i need to check the relay like any comptant person, but it is not back there, just one relay for air tank.

Go to advanced search upper right, "E55 fuel pump relay and fuse maintenance", user name bbirdwell. Read. ALL w211 E55 fuel pump relay(s) are located next to the Airmatic reservoir. Fuel rail pressure should be ~80 psi at idle.

i swear man its not there, no fuses just the relay for the air system... makes no sense. i need to find this thing. my idles at 55 60psi so either its clogged or one pumps dead or the relays burning up. need to check the relay first, lol but its not there im serious.

03 and 04 fuel pump relay is in the trunk as seen in your photo. Look under your cabin air filter over the auxiliary battery and you will see the air pump relay. My thread I told you to look for also has the schematic for the fuel pump relay. Slow down and read. There's more to it than just swapping a filter. Do it right the first time.

thanks for the links bbirdwell i dont think its that major, my cars just about 100% duty anything less then 70psi idle im going to have massive problems especially ill take the guess and say im dropping to 50 on load , much apricatied the relays fine i swapped it with the window defrost still 60psi idle, this cars imacluant shape no wire issues nothing burnt, but maybe i caught it fast since i have so many mods stock car would prolly still drive half decent up untill it toasted the pigtail on the secondary pump, then youd know somthings wrong. thing being said its 2019 someone needs to make a sweet article how to pull that crappy filter out and run a inline under the body, all headaches resolved forever...

if anyones wondering btw how i fit 4 inches in there, i bashed the second layer of the hood in and the pipes a oval around the blower charge pipe, yea you can do dual 3 but i wanted to prove a point one 4 inch on pretty tame, 12 psi with no restriction exhasut setup is plenty... but you need the biggest filter possible flows like 500whp not no where near, and it sounds super sick, no debate anymore especially that i swapped intake and its less lean, it flows way more air i dont want too hear this and that, stock intake is complete **** but if you like it you should atleast tape the intire thing up, i see about a 8 degree difference between the two.. cooler makes more timming, so on so fourth, oh and i get it the coupler, it might collapse allitle its still better then stock, im working with a fab guy to build me aluminum piece, then its a solid setup, if you want to bash your hood in lol

so i deleted evrything i said, so pissed mercedes never changed nothing, in November they told me the warranty ended in october, wrong it was feburary i could have had them done. evrything is smoked burnt and destroyed, bought the whole package deal off fcp and the updated harnesses ect, bumbed out, luckily the pass side pigtail was savable, it was very slightly burnt in the middle, in the inside of the tank the connectors were welded to the top hat, well now i have a lifetime warrenty on it so is what it is 1k later. never trusting one service writer again lesson learned ill be calling multiple dealers if i ever have a concern again. beyond pissed. but that being said so i have the drivers in its definitively plumped different the pumps should be here friday, were does the small tube/line go to? does it use the quick disconnect split? doesnt seem like it..

Ah I gotcha, I do my own work too with parts mostly from FCP I just misunderstood you. FCP’s warranty is sick.

resolved full package deal, harness adapters to make sure no back feed confusion cleaned up main pump plug, everything new, like bbridwell said "read and do it right" im thick headed its expensive but do it right the first time so i did. all off FCP eruo lifetime warrenty fuel system upgraded. this is stupid fast now must have been slowly going out past year between getting new 285 trackhawks on the back to just getting used to it since i drive the car in the nice months, thing roasts 285s like there garbage snow tires again, incredible i didnt manage to grenade the engine, luckily it finally all fell apart on a cold start not at WOT, evryone should check there idle psi periodicity, its easy enough... super inaccurate tourqe pro highest ive ever done on tourqe was 456ft lbs at 68ambiet, today it was 86 ambiet made 477ft lbs, yea fake numbers but theres a huge gain. im surprised it even read that considering the cars all over the place to 80mph again, and here i was thinking it was sticking and i was getting used to it...
