Would the E handle a V12?

with all this speculation about an E65 being released, do you think the chassis would be able to cope with the 600hp and weight of the big v12. would the performance be similar to the other 65 amg's? and do you think its a retaliation to the release of the new M5? and how much do you think they wud price it at?

While I doubt there will be an E65 in the USA, the SL65 is supposed to be priced at $179,000, if that gives you some idea.
And, yes, AMG could certainly make an E chassis 'tolerate' the 609 bhp 65 engine. (They ought to be able to accomplish most any necessary adjustment for the $100,000 added cost).

As for the M5, Mercedes/AMG had the 65 engine in the works and partially completed long before any details were available about the V10. It takes years to develop these projects to completion. I'm sure MB (and BMW) are well on their way designing the successors to their respective V12 and V10.

Brabus stuffed V12's in the W210 and W211. It's crazy!! I forgot what the output was for the W211 EV12.

BRABUS has installed a 6.3 V12 into 211 E-class a year ago...I has 640HPs, something like 1100 Torgues, 0-62 - 4.2 (limited, said by Brabus could go faster), 0-120 (0-200km) - 12.9.... Priced around 280,000-300,000 Euros (like $$$350,000)...depends on the options...

do u reckon brabus make a lot of profit on thier conversions? becasue although the conversion costs are high, they do use some very high tech engineering and do increasae performance BIGTIME, so i guess the costs for the components are high.
