I finally had a set of 2015 c63s mufflers fitted on my e55 . I have headers, 3” straight through with x pipe and res/cat delete with the standard e55 amg mufflers it was ok but with these c63 mufflers it is loud. Obnoxiously loud. Should I try putting resinator back in or how could I quieten a bit . It is louder than any others I have seen on YouTube etc

 

Put it on YouTube and post it for us to enjoy. Here’s mine with 2013 C63 mufflers. Ridiculously loud at WOT!

 

I'm also interested in how they sound. Would like to see a video.

 

These muffs are voiced so loud because the C63's turbos muffle the exhaust note. Resonators aren't going to make an appreciable difference. You may want to consider getting some E63 or CLS55 mufflers.

These are from the C63 equipped with the M156. No turbos.

My mistake, you're right. I should have read the original thread. I've only seen this done with the M156 C63 mufflers, and assumed that's what the OP used here based on the appearance of the tips.

2015 was a crossover year wasn't it? You may struggle with your warrant if it is that loud.

 

I think the non turbo c63 mufflers are the one to look for.

 

Yea guna put factory ones back on until I find a set of the correct c63 mufflers. Was thinking about trying some aftermarket mufflers but don’t think I’ll bother

 

Would you mind taking a video of the car with the c63s mufflers on? I just picked up cls63 mufflers (turbo model) for 40$ and was about to install but after hearing this I am having second thoughts.

The mufflers you have are off of a N/A v8 c63, he has on 2015 c63s mufflers which are for the turbo v8, which are more similar to the cls63 mufflers I just got.

Thanks for the comp! Not the only E55 out there with one, mine is off W204 2013 and they can be A-h0 loud if you step on it. I love em, been hesitant at first to get and after 6 months I pulled the trigger. No regret.

 

Where did you pick them up from?
I found two on ebay but I've been looking into junkyards to score some for cheaper than 600$ hopefully.

 

Off a member that posted FS C63 mufflers two weeks ago out of Seattle. I paid $663 plus $73 shipping; not too bad. I saw another sold for $700. I’ve checked junkyard and rarely see AMG.

 

 

 

Yea sounds more like a straight pipe compared to videos of c63 (NA) muffler e55s.

I have C63s on my E55 ill post a cold start video clip in the morning if anyone wants to hear. its raspy and really loud, louder than i was expecting. hated it at first but have grown to love it. I have mbh along with the typical primary cat and res delete with xpipe.
