So just replaced conductor plate for 722.6 on my w211 e55 @80k miles. Which showed signs that it needed replacing.
So we dropped the pan. Collected all fluid that came out. Measured to about 3.25L-3.5L. swapped in new conductor plate. Changed over solenoids to the same locations. Torqued everything to 5.9 foot pounds. (71 inch pounds) Made sure everything fit it in place. The little yellow slider on valve body, made sure the little pin fell in that little crevice on yellow sliding piece. Put pan back on. Filled a little over 3L of fluid. Reset adaptations using pedals Went for a drive around the block which is about .4 miles maybe. 1st round around. Still felt a little Eh. Went around again. Car went from 1st to second. But wouldnt shift passed 2nd. Not even in manual. Stopped shut car off turned back on. Went again
Shifting passed 2nd. Completed round. Pulled back in driveway. Checked level. Added fluid while car on ( my buddy old mechanic forgot that this is a no no) and went for 2nd drive. Through a check engine code. P0715 and p0730. And transmission let go and free reved. Came back. Cleared codes. Checked level again. Made sure everything was bolted up. The Dipstick showed, About directly in between 80 - 25. Reset adaptations.
Again went back out on 3rd drive. No check engine. Feels real good this time. And behold another free rev with a little gas.
Is this maybe something that's supposed to happen. Or maybe it needs a longer drive. Going to take to work tomorrow which is about 50 miles each way. Hopefully it does better
Hello,
I replaced the conductor plate and added 6 Quarts but after two days same problem. The dipstick when the car is running the oil level is at 42 marks, but when I turn off the car the dipstick shows the oil level at 82 marks Should I add more oil to bring it to 8 Quarts?

Trans oil level is typically checked with the engine running and the trans oil at temp.
I think the gearbox disengage itself for protection when it senses something wrong. I drove an sl doing the same thing once.
722.643 Gearbox absolutely will shift into neutral and throw an error code indicating low fluid if it's down about a quart or so. Will go back into gear if able around 15-20mph, so if it happens, slow the car down and pop it into neutral yourself so it doesn't try going back into gear driving down the road if you can avoid it.

You can't use your engine dipstick in the transmission. The transmission has it's own "filler checking tool" --- they're cheap. I wouldn't drive your car, since you should only need 4-4.5 quarts max to refill a drained transmission. You overfilled it excessively, and the ATF will start foaming.
GET THIS SORTED BEFORE YOU DRIVE IT, and be more specific to us about what you did and what kind of car you're driving (I noted a c240 in your avatar).

You can check it cold. If you have shifting issues you need to get it to exactly 80 degrees C, then check it. Otherwise start the car, row it through the gears twice, and then put it back in park.
