I don’t know.....a big leak would show up at idle and normal driving. He said it runs perfect until full throttle triggers an issue. Strange....

hey guys, im from the m156 group, with a 4L blower and a fully built / sleeved engine, and have been chasing this exact, if not, similar issue for almost 2 years and now its getting depressing af

. Car works perfectly fine upto 80/90% throttle to redline. However, if i perform WOT, the car seems to cutout at roughly 5800 rpms in the gears i tried (3rd and 4th atleast). It seems it cutsout at those exact RPMs all the time. I also tried to gradually accelerate past 5800 rpms, and reached around 6k RPMs. Then, i performed WOT at 6k rpms and immediately in a blink of an eye, the RPMs just stayed at the exact rpm that WOT was performed, and then followed by fuel cut off (according to HP tuners). I even tried to keep it floored, even while the fuel had cut off..and it just drops a 100 rpms or so, and then re-engages for WOT and cuts-out again at 5800 RPMs.

I've tried few different tunes from reputable vendors ( hptuners and such), i just don't know if its the TCU, or some sensors in the engine (map, cps, etc). As mentioned, it is a rebuilt and sleeved engine...I already swapped out my accelerator pedal, throttle bodies, and no luck. Apparently data logs show nothing standing out; fuel pressure good, all sensors working normally, etc.

Any guesses? Infact, has this issue been solved in this thread? I'd love to know the answer.

I've pinned it down to: possibly TCU limiter of some sort, TCU/conductor plate/selenoids, torque / load management of some sort since alls done via hp tuners / email tunes, possibly the fly wheel ??

No codes or CEL....it's SOO bizzare. Crying for help....

Thank you,

Check your air intake system, whatever you have, for possible collapse of the filter - tubes - anything. That will choke the air off and shut down engine fuel and air intake.

I believe LegitStreetCars had a similar issue with the VRP intake kit. They became restrictive in his setup on his Whipple E55

Thank you gents,

Checked the intakes yesterday actually. Even took out my rectangle air filters and went for WOT....no change..tried looking at anything restrictive under load too....Sigh.

Thank you though very much.

Sounds more like a software issue than a hardware issue...
