Also...what kind of system is this? Where did you install the tanks? Where is the NOS button and/or switch?
Also, what added safety do you need to run at a drag strip like this? Just a helmet?

sorry to sound like such a newb

I did install the intercooler chiller with no success this system is made for air to air, not water to air like the W211 E55's. I took it of and used the same line and tannk to go directly to the motor through the Y-connector of the intakes with a wet 55-32 combination.
Also, you need a helmet, jacket and gloves with NOS.
The System is a Nitrous Express, the bottle was installed in truck, were the spare tire should go.

Manuel

E55 power, congratulaton on having the guts (cojones) to put NOS in this car ! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I must agree with most people here about the trap speed being slow, I used to have an Impala SS (with 150 shot of NOS) and my best time was 12.6 @ 119 mph, then again my car had 3.42 gears, yours has 2.82 (or something like that), I also noticed that the car that ran next to you ran 12.3 @ 93 mph, so according to that your trap speed is good, but according to other tracks it is very slow.
Eitherway the time is great, once again felicidades ! !

Do you happen to have a warming blanket for your tank? Also do how do moniter the pressure in the tank if it's in the trunk? I have found that my times are much better with a full tank with about 1000 psi than toward the bottom where volume changes make a big difference in the pressure.
I'm not familiar with using NOS in blown applications but in normally aspirated engines the maximum torque is obtained when the NOS button it pushed. My Vette makes about 700 lb/ft at 2000 rpm and goes down from there. This might account for the better low end performance and less effect on the high end.

Do you have a window switch or when does the NOS come on?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Manuel,
En hora buena!
Well done... 4mph is sort of low for a 100 wet shot, but it would have been interesting what your car would have run with and without the nitrous on that day, that way you could have gauged how much of an effect it had on your trap speeds.
119mph is nothing to sneeze at... realize that those kind of trap speeds are getting into Viper territory. With that kind of power you can pretty much roll on against just about anyone on the streets... pretty badass for a 4 door sedan.
On another note, I drove another one Monday... an '03 Tectite Gray one... it was almost mine![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Me avisas cuando vayas nuevamente a probar a Carolina.
PM me when you go, I'd like to see that. As a drag racer in my time, the most everyone used was either brute HP and low weight or we evolved later into small cars with weber side drafts, then turbos. Wow, it's been too long !!! Do you remember La Pista de Caguas ? Or maybe drag racing in from of the Tastee Freeze in Villa Blanca in Caguas ?

Almost as if it was revving so fast, the computer wasnt prepared for the shift.
Bouncing off the limiter on spray is very bad for the internals. I tried lifting right before the shift but it was hopeless.
After 3rd gear it was fine cuz it seems to have enough time to 'prepare' but 1-2-3 was BAD. After a few bottles of testing, the idea was abandoned.
Supercharger made much better idea. and no need to go home when the bottle goes dry ;-)
Hopefully the 211's computer is smarter!
