Hi, I just ordered my 2005 E55 3 days ago and found this great forum. Really amazing 
If somebody is interested in my (hopefully)
next car, here are the options I chose:
2005 E55:

Paint: 033 designo Mocha Black

I may be wrong but isn't the 319 lighting pkg. the old non-curve sensing lighting number?
I thought the new one was the 339 PKG?
I'd double check with your dealer. But surely you want the curve sensing headlights.

Thank you for your question. I have not contacted the dealer yet but as far as I know, the old Lighting-Package without Curve-Sensing isn't avaliable any more (the option-list only shows one Lighting-package).
I will double-check that with my dealer because you are absolutely right - I want the Curve-Sensing Headlights!!

Folks, Thank You very much for your congrats! You can be sure that I will post some pictures as soon as I have it in front of my garage (March/April or so)! First I wanted to order the car in Jade-Black but the dealer had this Mocha-designo in the showroom - the combination is just awesome!!! I especially like cars that are dark outside and have a brighter interior.
Although I am very happy, I am a bit concerned, too. I just checked the options on mbusa.com for the 2005 E55, but the designo-package disappeared, too. My order-receipt shows the option. Does anybody know if it will be avalible or not? When I ordered my car, I could already see that the solar-panel was gone, so they already updated the option-list to 2005 (designo was avaliable).
What counts now? My order-receipt or the online-konfigurator. Maybe designo is still avalible, but only at the dealer's order-system? Has anybody an idea?

2005 E55 designo editions
I have the 2005 E class brochure and it says the E55 can be had in designo Espresso or Graphite but not Silver.
From the little paint chips, it looks like an awesome combination. I'm glad you got to see one in the flesh before ordering.

Oh, xraymd, thank you very much! I feel much better now knowing the designo package is still avaliable. The silver one wasn't avaliable for this car in 2004, too.

I have a 2005 E55 on order for next June or July (yep, even later than you). My dealer said he'd get me a new brochure as soon as they were in. Well, you know how that goes. Two weeks ago I stopped by to see if any 2005's had arrived. None had, but there was a new brochure sitting in the back of one of the 2004's
When I asked if I could have one they said sure.

Oh, xraymd, I know exactly what you mean. As soon as the dealer has your signature on the order and the required down-payment, requests from the buyer are not that "urgent" any more and it is more likely that the dealer might "forget" a little request....

When I ordered the designo, my dealer told me that I would be very lucky that he had one in the showroom. This color-combination doesn't seem to be #1-choice due to the Extra $5K. In my opinion MB would be better off not always showing just the standard-trims. They would sell more designos if they could actually present them to their customers. The dealer had it in the showroom on a CLK Convertible and although I intended to order the car in standard black, the first impression was simply AWESOME...
BIG PROMISE TO THE FORUM - YOU'LL SEE LOTS OF PICS AS SOON AS I GET IT...
(If you can't wait 'til then, I suggest you check out the new eBrochure for the 2005 e-Class. I think the designo-sample they display should be the Mocha/Sand combination, but be careful - they made a mistake by showing the wrong samples under the wrong names (Silver/Mocha- samples were switched, if you pay attention, you will see what I mean..)

Sweet car. I want to order the designo edition on the new CLS 55 but I have not seen anything on the designo for this. When I asked my dealer aboout the designo on the E-55 he said that he had not seen one nor had anyone ordered an AMG Edition Designo. He did not know if the seats were one color in the Nappa Leather or Two tone. Does anyone know what they are and can the dash be ordered in the smae colors or do you have to have the charcoal combo. Also, does anyone have the link for the company that makes the wood steering wheel for the e55 amg. Im surprised that this is not offered as an option on the e55
