Door lock settings issue
I have two issues with my power door locks.
First, when I use the key fob to lock the doors, it used to chirp to let me know that it was locked. Now, no noise at all. How do I get the chirp back?
Second, I rarely use the key fob to unlock the car when approaching it. I just squeeze the drivers door handle. Once the door lock actuated to open, ALL the doors used to unlock, and my wife could get in her side. Now, only the driver door unlocks, and I have to get in to unlock the other doors using the dash lock button. How do I return the car to the previous configuration?
Perhaps related, there now seems to be a micro second delay between the time I squeeze the door handle to the time the door unlocks, The whole system just seems kind of off. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Check owners manual or search. Single or multi-door lock/unlock is a manual setting. Single chirp is programmed; I'll have to look at doc's or see if Mackhack will chime in.

Thanks, bbirdwell. I did a search, most info seems to center around doors locking automatically after hitting 9mph, and automatically unlocking when putting it in park. I don't want that to happen. I just want all the doors to lock and unlock together when I command it from either the keyfob of the door handle being squeezed. I usually unlock the car from the door handle as I walk up to it and open the door. That works just fine, however it does not unlock all the other doors, leaving my somewhat annoyed wife waiting outside as I climb in and use the switch on the dash panel to unlock hers. I can't seem to find out how to do that. It used to do that without the doors auto locking, and now it doesn't anymore. I have no idea how that changed. Maybe has something to do with the chirp disappearing as well?

Try this:
Hold down the unlock and lock buttons together on the key for approx 6 seconds until the battery check lamp (on the key fob) flashes twice. This toggles the key between one door unlocking and all doors unlocking mode.
Or this:
Press the lock and unlock buttons on the key at the same time for 6 seconds. That will allow you to open just the drivers door with one press and all doors with 2 presses.
FWIW, mine is set for all doors unlock with one press or one pull of a door handle on the '05.
Your Shelby sounds sorta cool....

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Yes, the Shelby is a blast. 744HP, 2200lbs wet. It's quite a beast. Lots of fun to drive.
