MBWorld Fanatic!
This car is in Georgia.
IF you can get the guy to get back to you he may have what you need. I text him and emailed him awhile back about the hood and some interior and never got a response.

This actually was a rebuilt transmission and I’ve been told that it is better to get a used or new unit. Rebuilt units have a thousand pieces that can fail and as you said you need to be meticulous. Don’t know that I trust a transmission that has been rebuilt by someone anymore.
And then with the 722.9 there is the whole issue with the valve body and conductor plates and programming. Does not seem straightforward at all.

722.9 is a different beast from a 722.6

A re-manufactured transmission from a MB dealer list for around $6,200.00, discount 20% at one dealer online just under $5,000 with your core

And I'm still dropping around $6000 into a 13+ year old E63 with 118k miles that's only worth about $12k. Don't know that I want to make that investment when I know other items will start failing. I'd rather cut my losses now, before the bleeding really starts.

sounds like you made up your mind, haha. But honestly, depends on how much you love the car....and/or hassle of parting it out. Either spend the $4-5k and keep it another 3-4 years; or cut your losses now and get rid of it at a huge discount for the new owner.

Yeah, I am leaning towards not getting it fixed right now. It's winter here anyway. I will see if I get any offers for it as is, otherwise come Spring I might get it fixed.

yeah you have time; if you keep it I hope you can find a reman'd one for cheaper than this (ouch): https://www.mbpartscenter.com/oem-pa...bC12OC1nYXM%3D
Great looking car! love the color of the calipers and the rear diffuser. I'll probably have mine repainted this spring, and still looking for a reasonably priced rear diffuser myself.

ok got the site to work on a different browser, weird. Anyhow just FYI for parts that i'm watching, edhicks is on average 16% higher than autohouseofpeoria (again for multiple parts for my 2009 i'm watching). Just a data point.

Example just ran the part number for the transmission discussed in the thread - 211-270-67-02-80 , Hicks had 20% off list, benzparts.autohausofpeoria had Not For Sale - No Longer Available For Purchase.
Most of the time I purchase from FCP euro{if they have the part available] for the lifetime exchange warranty.
