Aftermarket flat panel LED license plate light out

The prior owner of my car converted the license plate lights to some sort of aftermarket LED units. The right one is out now. There's no screws on the face of them visible from the outside. Does anyone know how to get these out to replace them? Better still, can I convert back to factory type bulb holders? I like the LED's but I'd rather have the factory type with LED's inserted in them in place of the regular bulbs. I'm thinking that might be quite expensive though, buying all new factory parts to convert back. If not I'll just buy replacements for these. Anyone have any info on removing them, replacing them, or converting back to a factory type setup?

Use these, they are cost effective. Swapping to the OEM housing is not an option can't put LED bulbs in them.

Great - thanks! Hopefully they come with instructions how to get the old ones out and these in.

You have to remove the entire inner trunk lid liner. Then the outer painted shell is bolted into the trunk lid with 10mm bolts, it has to be removed as well. Then that allows you access to the bulbs/housings.

IF the part number is the same as a w211 for the license plate lighs, I have some I took out of my c240 that you can have for free (just pay ship).

And to correct the above, there are festoon-style LED bulbs that work in the w211 factory license plate light housing. Message AZNOptiks on this forum.
