DIY: Bypassing Rear Air Spring Reservoir
Well, you’re in luck. Here’s an easy way to stop those pesky air leaks and extend the life of your tired air spring.
Time: 10 minutes
Parts Required:
Swedish-made hose clamps
3/4” PVC insert
Sharp object
Find the kit for $30 at RMT’s website or piece it together for half that.
Locate the only hose going to the tank and find a section where you’ll make the cut. Apply some cutting lube and cut the hose nice and straight. Now insert the plastic piece into the hole, attach hose clamp and tighten. That’s it, you’re done.
After this mod the ride is noticeably firmer, but nothing to write home about. Enjoy your (air) leak free automobile.

If you’re replacing a bag with an RMT or any other OE style I’d definitely recommend doing this with a set of fresh hose like you see above.

I did this while installing a new air bag. Everything was great for a day but the next day the car was on the ground on that side again. Pretty sure the leak was at the plug i made. I attached a rubber hose piece with a steel clamp and a plug also with a screw down clamp. Any advice to keep that from leaking?

Didn't know there was even a kit for this, LOL. Mine drops over 3 days or so. Someone I know detached the hose from the sprint and reservoir, cleaned corrosion on mating surfaces, reinstalled everything back and says his problem was solved. So I was wondering whether my leak could be from the hose from the spring to the reservoir. So I was thinking about replacing the hose with a new one but don't know the hose diameter. I never got around to examining it closely. I am curios why you decided to cut and cap the hose instead of replacing it.
Thanks.
