Pretty low mileage for such a problem, did you remove the pieces you found in the oil pickup? Were you able to identify them?

I caught the noise at a drive through tapping sound got louder and louder quickly while I was trying to order. Happened while I was idling. Drove forward. Parked. Towed to my shop. I think it's just not getting enough pressure to the lifters. If anything worn bearings from low pressure, I have high doubts about scratched cylinder walls. BUT.. go ahead and assume the worst on the motor. I'm going to just keep saying that.

Yes, I pulled the pan to look and see any damage or bend pickup, or broken bits clogging. but it wasn't pieces. It was part of what looked like a tough blue shop towel or rag. I pulled the pan off a while back to check bearing health and I probably left a rag/paper towel in it. Bearings looked fantastic.(WHEN I FIRST CHECKED> I DID NOT EVEN BOTHER LOOKING THIS TIME - expect them to be bad) Wish I never checked. Would probably be running today.

None the less. You can go ahead and assume the worst. There, I said it again. Motor is crap. Maybe sell the heads off and the rods and Pistons. whatever. Sell the coils, you won't need all that stuff when you replace the motor with a another motor.

ONCE AGAIN> ASSUME THE WORST>> MOTOR IS BAD> make an offer. I'm not asking for much.
