Black series mounts worth the extra cost?

To you that have black series engine and trans mouts installed, are they worth the extra cost? Here, lemförder engine and trans mounts are about 165 $ while black series is 385 $. The cost difference is small but I can't really find any user review and I don't want to spend extra money for no reason.

Does the black series mount feel tighter? Excessive vibration? Longevity?

Thanks

the first week after install the mounts felt stiff and great. after that break in process, they felt stockish but stiffer than stock. very OEM in feeling. personally, if i were to do it again, i'd probably go with ECE mounts with their softest insert.

if you want stiffer, there are a few vendors here that sell mounts. ECE seems to be the prettiest. I personally would go with those if they're in stock.

How long have you had the black mounts on? Do they have better durability than stock?

I didn't notice a change from oem 50,000km mounts to black series. I didn't do the transmission mount though. I would consider the poly mounts except I doubt I would deal with the extra NVH.

Honestly just get the East Coast Euro motor mounts. If someone got in my car the would not notice any vibration or noise unless I pointed it out and even then it feels very very close to stock.... except that they should last longer and are servicable.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up skipping the black series mounts to go with lemförder and putting the left over money on swaybar end links and front balljoints as a refresh. Later I will upgrade the mounts with ECE.

According to Ahmad Akhgar at ECE, they do not sell engine mounts for a 2008 E63 AMG, as I was informed of a couple of weeks ago by email. I've checked out the VRP mounts, here https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...unts-here.html
but I wonder if anyone else here has installed them and can inform? Or, are there any other manufacturers comparable to the Black Series?

not worth it at all. marginally stiffer than stock and transmit just enough noise and vibration under WOT that it seems unfitting in a Mercedes....if that makes any sense

Thanks for that feedback, M5 LOL. Has anyone tried the VRP engine mounts?

I went from totally wasted stock mounts to BS mounts and, of course, love the difference they made, but my stock mounts were shot. I have no issue with spending the extra $$ on the BS mounts

BS mounts are worth it IMO. The oil filled mounts fail a lot and BS series address those issues and still keep vibration down. Note: 55s have aluminium frames and if you put the wrong aftermarket mount on and any metal part of the mount wearsor touches your frame, you will think your car is coming apart. Aluminum frames transmits sound and vibration immensely.

We stock hundreds of BS series mounts. That`s how popular they are . http://ultimatepd.com/mercedes-black...712400118.html

I replaced the transmission mount with the black series. It didn't seem to add any vibration. However, it was so simple to do that in hindsight I would just replace the mount with a lemforder one (big price difference) every other oil change
