What would be the average cost to get the coilovers installed at an Indy shop? I've been getting quotes from $1,500 - $2,200. Ouch!

That sounds about right. I was estimated 6 to 8 hours of labor. Don't feel like tackling it yourself?

I don't have the proper tools. My wife's cousin is supposed to help me with it in his garage once he is not as busy with work and all. Just don't know how long I can wait lol. Been almost 2 months without driving the E55!!!

I got all the tools I needed from Lowes. Cost me around $400 for everything. Plus you'll have tools later down the road if you ever needed to raiser/lower your height or do other work.

Most of the weekend. Took my time. You could probably complete in a day if you jam.

Rear control arms

I'm having a hard time finding rear control arms. Was going to pull the trigger on coilover but every site I check says the rear control arms for w211 non-airmatic have been discontinued. Has anyone any experience with this lately?

Order them directly from an MB dealership. I just got my set a couple of weeks ago. They were back-ordered, and definitely not discontinued when I ordered mine. Took under 2 weeks to come in.

It's been almost a year now with the BC coilovers, so far so good. However, I do want to raise the rears since I can't pass safety inspection (tires rub if someone is in the car) but I heard it's more labor intensive than the fronts. Any tips or tricks for raising the rears?

No real easy way around it. Gotta unbolt the control arms to adjust the perches. It gets easier the more you do it.

I have put Arnott's coil overs on 2 E55s in my garage at home. I had a dealer install the Arnott's kit on my SL55 with anti-roll bars and new power steering pump. I am pleased with all.

Is the only issue for not passing the rubbing? If that's the case, you can always roll/pull your rear fenders.

Yeah it's the rubbing, pretty annoying. I'd rather just lift it up a bit since it has settled more than I thought it would. Will probably go an inch off the top of the tires.

You'll likely need to roll too to prevent rubbing on large bumps especially with people in the back. You'll be surprised on how much clearance you'll get by doing that.

It'll probably take them 1-2 hours to complete. Some may charge a flat rate but make sure they know what they are doing.

W211 E200 Facelift
Is this the lowest the BC BR Coilovers can go? Or it can go even lower?
