2006 cls55 vs 2008 s65/s63 vs cl65

I use to have a 2006 cls55 but it was totalled on a freak accident and I've had the itch to get back into another however not many in cali which is where I live and I'm not.finding ones wirh distronic on it, which I swear I had that feature on my cls55, can anyone confirm that this feature existed in 2006 on the cls55? Also allot of the cls55 have been modified which means smogging concerns in cali.. it seems when you start to get into the cl65 and s65 class they aren't getting modified as much.. can anyone tell me there experience on the 2008 s65, s63 and 2008 cls65? Of those 4 cars I'm guessing the cl65 is the quickest? I'm more of a off the line speed guy than top end speed guy but im guessing the cl65 is the quickest but by how much over the s65? Is the s65 that much quicker than s63? Which car is more reliable?

2006 CLS55 AMG, 2005 SLK 350 AMG
The 2006 CLS55 did have distronic as an option. But, apprearantly it was not widely optioned as there aren't many cars with it when looking through the used car markets.

The s63 is the most comparable to the cls55. It's a v8 and the maintenance is in the same ballpark. The s65 and cl65 are both the large 6.0 v12.. The have massive power potential but the cost to purchase is higher. The maintenance cost is also really high. At least double of the cls or e55.
The cl65 is a touch faster than the s65 but the s65 is the top of the food chain. They are remarkable cars if you can afford to keep them on the road.
I would do a lot of searches on all of them before you decide.
I want a CL65 any year.
there are a few members here that run 10s tune only.

SL55 AMG, CLS55 AMG
Obviously all 4 are cool cars, man.
The CLS55 has the POTENTIAL to be just as nasty as the S65 or CL65... but the mods it takes to get there, you just can't get away with in California. The m113k is my favorite so I'm admittedly horribly biased.
The CL65 is a few pounds lighter than the S65 so a little quicker, but both are super sweet and will get you there in a hurry. The S65 just makes it easier to mess with the childseat
And the S63... well many of its parts will work on your S65 if you ever need them. I kid. Kind of.

222 S-65
S-65 will have all the goodies. Buy 2008 or newer for the diamond stitched leather. Buy as new as you can afford that has been taken care of. I have only ever seen the S-65 with the pano roof. I'd much prefer a steel roof with a steel sunroof like I had in the 500E.
221 S-65 improved on much that wasn't right in the 220 cars. Keyless GO that always works for one.... ABC that is much less troublesome for another. If you have the scratch to do it get a 222 chassis S-65 for the seven speed box and Burmeister sound.... Best sound I have ever heard and felt in a car.
Get a pre-purchase inspection on any of them and expect to do $1-2K straight away. They are no Camry.... But I love mine.
