SLiPlO Universal Anti-Scrape Guard
For those of you that have CF Front Splitters, and have also lowered your E55 or E63, then you'll appreciate this tremendously. This is a must have item, to protect your splitter.
I've replaced my CF front splitter already, and was looking for some type of skid plate, to protect my new one. Anyway, I came across this piece, while searching.
I purchased this SLiPLO Universal Anti-Scrape Guard from RW Carbon probably five months ago. It comes with 3M adhesive tape, but even after cleaning my front spoiler with alcohol, I found that it didn't stay on after it had rained.
Then dawned on me, that my front splitter is wrapped in PPF. And that was the reason why the 3M Adhesive tape didn't stick. So I used Gorilla Glue, and it hasn't fallen off yet, and I don't think that it will. As Gorilla Glue is strong.
This Anti-Scrape Guard acts as a sacrificial layers. https://www.rwcarbon.com/sliplo-slip...rself-kit.html

Mine had a few scratches before I installed this. But this is to replace your aluminum sheet, as it acts as your skid plate.

How well would this adhere if the lip is all ready scratched up underneath? Does it need a new surface to attach to?
I have a Carlson style lip which seems hard to find vs. the Godhand ones and would like to keep it forever.

I think that the roughed up/scratched up texture, would adhere fine. Short story....... After installing it one afternoon, it rained that night and the next morning several pieces of it was on the ground.
Apparently it didn't adhere well to my PPF wrapped CF Splitter. So my work around was install it using gorilla glue. The 3M Adhesive that come in the kit, is in the exact shape as the guards.
And would work just fine. After installing, I had several pieces left over. I only installed it, on the circumference of my splitter. As that was the most likely areas to contact the pavement.
