Can anyone please share what they received from their insurance company after your 211 AMG was called a total loss/totaled after an accident and can you please provide mileage as well?
Anyone that owns a 10+ year old AMG, owns it for a reason. That being said I know the most of us here all have kept our cars in mint cond. As did I. So I will adjust the price from your mileage versus my mileage, giving it that the car is in "KBB" Very good/excellent condition category. I did the KBB survey but I want to know real time numbers.
Also, any tips from anyone to get the most out of this car?
I am in FL and is a No Fault state and my insurer is StateFarm.
I want to be greedy with this one b/c I have spent over $10K in the last 9 months in repairs and maintenance. On a 14k car (when I bought it). But this is $10k with me doing all the work if labor was involved easily a total of $18k-20k. So what I am getting at is $10k in parts not parts and labor included, biiiigggg difference.
B/c this will be asked, do not want to go into too much detail as the case is still active. Not my fault, other driver admitted to fault, and had a witness that was on my side.
Thanks.
PS, once all squared away will be back in a 211 AMG soon! Only owned this car for a total of 9 months while the first 3 it was sitting as I did work on it. NOT ENOUGH SEAT TIME. (Got flights booked to look at another hahaha)

There was a similar thread for somebody on here who had his wagon totaled. Recommend you pull BAT listings as well as other listings on here for “book value”. If an insurance company says they don’t do auctions, I would argue that point as that’s the perfect price between a willing buyer and willing seller. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. KBB suck! big time. You will never get a car like ours based on KBB value. It doesn't mater it's your fault or not, or much much did you spend on the car, even with receipts. Insurance company just go with the book. Don't accept their offer without a fight. Eventually, they will increase the value, not much though. Good luck!

someone in the FB w211 AMG group got about $15k for his E55 with over 125K miles. He mentioned it took a lot of time and fighting of showing comps and other market sales. Remember if you can't find one within your radius it is completely reasonable to look country wide for comps. If they give too much hassle then go to your State Insurance Commissioner.

Just went through this with a 2 hour old car in Florida. Got rear ended by a Tahoe going 50 MPH or so and the car was totaled. The state of Florida definitely favors insurance companies. They have done a good job lobbying for their needs and not the needs of the residents. Anyway, to make a long story short, your insurance company does not have to give you replacement value for the car; rather, they give you, basically, trade in per the blue/black book values. You can only hope to have a rider that will pay you above the value of the car. I was lucky to have this on the car that was totaled. If not, I would have lost $10k on what insurance was required to give me vs what was owed on the car. The Florida laws are very tight on the insurance companies side.

Insurance should cover for replacement cost for stock. If they low ball find the average cost for a comparable and make them pay that cost. Do not settle for less. Their job is to replace the vehicle you had in it's stock trim. You may have to drag it out but they will want to close the case.

Everyone that responded, Thank you! Got everything situated and got 2k more than what I paid for the car back in Jan. I did new camshafts and tappets back in Feb. and StateFarm allowed me to go to the auction house and swap out the parts, thankfully I kept those old parts and other things like wheels and such.
As I type this I am siting in my hotel room in Virginia, just purchased an 09 E63 that I was eyeing after the crash earlier today. 18 day turnaround (since the crash) and back in a 211 AMG!
During the test drive I noticed two things instantly, the exhaust is a little louder, like 10-20 dB nothing drastic, checked and all stock exhaust and the shifts from 1-> 2 OR 2 -> 1 are like they should, almost unnoticeable . Drove a 07 E350 for abt 5 years then the 08 AMG and the shift from 1->2 OR 2->1 where a-little rough. Has to do with the updated valve body and software that the 09's got??
SO, picture after the crash. The other driver ran a red light and I was the lucky one to t-bone him. Time abut 10pm. The red arrow is the direction the black SUV was traveling and the blue me. I was all they way in the left lane, that is a 3 lane road i was in, so two other lanes to the right of me. He runs the red light I hit him, be jumps the median and ends up all the way in the other direction of travel lanes.
I believe the person fell asleep at the wheel....

congrats on getting $16k out of them! Let us know, and see; the new 2009 E63 you got. Regarding the shifting, I have a 2009 also, and downshift in Sport mode from 2-1 when cold, is rough and met with a big thump. Always has. I have debated trying to change the TCC solenoid but have not dared yet. other than than it shifts smooth and quiet as should be.

Where in Virginia where you staying at a hotel? And what are your future plans for your 09 E63?

As for plans right now, doing head-bolts if not done and swapping the camshafts and tappets to the ones I purchased and installed in the 08 regardless of condition. All fluids, pulleys w/ belt, pcv valve with catch can, remove, take apart, clean throttle body and intake manifold, most likely will get the revised TB mounting plate and put that in. Afe filters, row boxes, plugs, injectors, engine/trans mounts. And anything else I see as am working on it and when i get it in the lift..
Also a complete detail, iron remover, clay-bar, wash, waax, etc. Maybe a paint correction down the road.
But first will take the VIN to a dealer and look up what services are on record and go from there.
Then from there run it for a couple months then slowly work my way to the basic mods: MBH headers, tune, lsd. Possibly that trans tune, that was going around a couple months ago.

Even when cold (oil temp was ~40 C°) I was impressed with it, smoother than when the E350 & 63 when cold. The e350 & 63 still was a little rough though even when at temp.
Definitely do the solenoids, did this to the other cars and did seem to shift smoother when at temp. Remove the 10 bolts that hold the valve body in, just becarfeul with the power connection, but I just removes the solenoids and cleaned them and reinserted. Changing them out may get rid of the problem when cold, (don't hold me to this!), the rough shifts from start also comes from the TC being low on fluid. The car needs to turn a couple of times for the tcu to understand the conditions and release fluid to where it needs to be, so keep that in mind. Will do the same with this one but just clean, not change out. Each solenoid runs about $50 for each?? Not too bad I don't think.

Well, I hope that you get a lot of enjoyment out of the new car. Here are a few pics of my E63.
Dam, it came out all jacked up. Cant figure out how to rotate it correctly.
