Finding the best exhaust setup for E63

Got together with a few viewers of my channel and compared exhaust notes. All had different setups: resonator delete, res delete + x-pipe, headers and Renntech tune, and mine with stock exhaust. I think I will do secondary cat delete to mine.

Let your ears feel some audio orgasm 😀

Cool vid, I personally like the first exhaust with the resonator delete + x-pipe.

I agree! I think that was the least raspy and more AMG-like.

Definitely the first one, sounds the best. I just have headers and a tune. But it doesn't sound that good, unless you really are getting on it, in the high RPM range.

Cool video. On my '08 E63 I had the secondary cats removed and I put in an X pipe in. Sound is a little more high pitched and louder however if you want more bass then go with an H pipe which is how the cars come from the factory. I also have the Eurocharged tune on my car. I think my power band moved up the RPM range a bit.

Thanks Rob. I am considering secondary cat delete for myself but without H or X pipe. The stock system crosses anyway. One viewer of the channel recommended this setup.

Woud you say secondary cat delete is louder or quieter than resonator delete? Any drone?

Factory system does have an H pipe and I think that is where the AMG sound comes from along with the muffler tuning. Hard to say from the video what is the best sound. It depends on what sound you want and how loud you want it. If I was to do it again I would just take out the secondary cats and leave everything else. Mine is still pretty much stock when I drive normal and a little louder when I rev it. Biggest change is on a cold start, that is when you can notice it is not stock.
