Anyone have any experience with replacing dashboard
I have a 2005 E55 that had the dash short out during a drive home during hot weather. Actually, the A/C and radio also were lost during this trip. My indy has replaced the environmental and radio control capabilities and taken care of a nasty little fuse that would blow consistently. This indy also tried replacing my dash with a used one. This new dash does not show odometer values and thinks that I have run flat tires. I am wondering if there is anything that can be done with this dash or perhaps if there is a shop that can fix my old dash. Anyone have any experiences with this? I would hate to throw away more money on the car as I already have replaced just about every cooling system on the car as well as many engine parts.

What are you calling the 'dashboard' - the instrument cluster with the tach, speedo, enigine temp and such or the padded dash item that goes from one side of the interior to the other directly under the windshield?

The Central Gateway is where the mileage is maintained and is reported to the dash cluster and other controllers throughout the car. The Gateway is located in the dash areas so it could have been damaged by the fire or some of the wiring to and from it. A complete scan of the car and every controller is a must under this type of sitution. The scan should be done by MB Star or other similar professional diagnostic tool. Report back what is found.

You MUST code the new cluster to the dash! Multiple experts on here can do that. Search and then contact one as multiple posts on this made in last three months.
FWIW, that is how I had a used cluster coded to my car.
