M113K supercharger bypass valve, how is it controlled?
Hi All,
I'm in the process of fitting a M113K engine with Weistec supercharger and aftermarket ECU (Haltech 2500 Elite) into a 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SEC. I have a build thread on Benzworld forum which can be seen here: M113K 560SEC Build Thread | Mercedes-Benz Forum (benzworld.org)
I’ve read various posts on MBWorld and other information on the internet namely OLDTIMER: Tipps für Mercedes 460, 463, R230 (hehlhans.de), but does anyone have a definitive answer on how the ECU controls the opening of the bypass valve? Old Timer says it is done on throttle position only. I thought maybe it would have operated off MAP, a computerised version of a traditional vacuum operated bypass valve like on a LSA engine.
Haltech seems to think it will have no problem operating it with any number of inputs such as MAP, TPS, RPM etc, but of course I want to operate it as close as possible to how AMG set it up.Cheers
