I ordered one for my S55 but then I realized it served little to no benefit to me. It just lets people drive me nuts by playing with my radio!
I canceled the order and saved the 114 bucks.

Even if the old one does work for the newer COMAND, what people consider "basic" is subjective... the old remote has no way to make menu selections on the new COMAND, so I can't see how useful it would be.
