Another bloody wheel question...
sorry to do everyone's head in
but...
Looking at a nice 10 spoke rim from ESR. I can get them in a nice, safe width/offset but i was hoping to run something a little more aggressive which allows for more dish if possible. So, wondering if any gurus know if this combo will fit on a W211 E55 with stock suspension without rolling guards?
Front: 19x9.5 ET+22 shod with 255/35
Rear: 19x10.5 ET+22 shod with 275/30
(same width/offset combos exist in 18" too)
Thanks in advance.

All you need to use is willit fit .com if you can;t figure it out ..I make my own templets using cardboard for exact fitments.

im just hyper picky on offsets, and since 211s are old news now its not like there are a bunch of us out there to crowd source R&D. seems like most guys all run the same wheels, and after my own journey I get it now.

not sure i understand this reply?
i use that site all the time, but without specific knowledge of how they will sit under the guards, it's a bit hard. searching through the wheel threads here there's all sorts of fitments been used. i posted this in case someone had already had a experience with these specs.

You're going to rub. I'm running F: 20x9 +20 245/35 and R: 20x10.5 +22 275/30. Granted, they're an inch larger in diameter but I'm on coilovers so there's a lot less shock travel than stock. The rear sticks out quite a bit at stockish height. Front fits perfectly. You'll definitely need to roll the fenders and down size the front tires to 245/35. I'm not confident 255/35 will fit the front with that setup and they honestly wont look good with 275/30 in the back. The front sidewall will be 6.75mm thicker in the front.
To get an idea, I'm on coils and this it what the rear looks like at max height.
This is what it looks like lowered
My rear fenders are rolled and I still rub slightly in the back going over freeway dips and on steep driveways. I plan to fix that with adding more camber in the back. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.
excellent post Schfifty_5, that is exactly the type of feedback i was hoping for. much appreciated.
+22 pokes far more than i would like. i'm in a rural area with ****ty roads so running negative camber is not something i want to do.
there's a safer offset/rim width option available, just means half an inch less lip on both counts. 19x8.5 ET+30 and 19x9.5 ET+35 will fit for sure. i'd run 245/35 and 275/30 on those.

I haven't noticed any rubbing on WOT but it does slightly going over high speed dips and steep driveways. I've debated pulling the fenders out but decided not to because I don't want to permanently alter the appearance of the fender or risk paint cracks/chips. I'm installing a rear camber kit soon to stop it from rubbing. It honestly only needs to go in by 2-3mm. You're not wrong about these cars being too powerful for this look. But I live on a small, over populated island with no track and this car very rarely sees any "Mexico" action these days. So meh, Form over Function, stance look is ok with me. These aren't my only set of wheels so I can switch back to my more conservative wheels whenever I want.

Mondo - i'm running almost exactly the 'safe' setup you mentioned (+28 in the front being the only difference). If i could do it over i'd definitely go more aggressive. The CLS55 wheels are the perfect fitment to me which are 19x8.5 +25 / 19.9.5 +28 but you could likely go 255/285 with the safe setup to fill up the gap a bit better...that's my plan whenver I get new tires.
@M5 LOL love the look! are you running additional camber, or is that just what occurs naturally when you lower the car?

interesting. i guess my mistake was comparing stock height to lowered cars. sometimes even the CLS55 wheels looked too poked out for my taste but that was on cars at stock height. your wheels are theoretically equivalent to a 9.5" +24 and looks like you could squeeze another couple mm out of it if you really wanted. Are you running 275/30/19?

i've been considering running 5mm (or maybe10mm) hub centric spacers to poke them out a little more, so that would be effectively ET+25 and +30. They'd poke 12mm more than stock on the front and 14mm more than stock on the rear with both inside edges being pretty much in the same position as the stock wheels.

nice. i was considering 10mm hubcentric spacers in the rear. whats weird is H&R doesn't show any availability for E55s but plenty for W211 E500 & E63. Pretty sure those are the ones to use and it's just an oversight

So after conversing with ESR a few times, they cannot guarantee the wheels will clear the brakes as this design does not have good big brake clearance. As i mentioned before, i could run some spacers but they weren't able (or were unwilling) to provide measurements so I could work it out for myself. Seeing as i am in Australia, it is impractical to test fit first so looks like i may have to keep searching for a different design.
