SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG

One of my buddies just got an 04 Cayenne Twin Turbo. He brought it by for me to try out. Very impressive for a 5200 pound behemoth. It felt like a sports car. Handling is amazing for a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I was not impressed with the acceleration. Turbo lag sucks. Seating position stinks too.
I haven't driven any of the MB Turbos but with the 12 cylinders I can't imagine any lag.
I then let him drive my E55 and he was very impressed and asked me how much it costs. He guessed $150K and when I told him $85K he was floored. He had not driven a MB since the mid 90's and could not believe the difference. He's had numerous BMW's but was put off by the new styling and traded his 740i for the Cayenne. BTW his other car is a 911 Cabriolet.

The hp potential of the Cayenne engine is huge! You can get 750 hp from the 996 tt engine and it's a good bit smaller. I'd imagine 900 hp or more isin't out of reach.

2001 BMW M5
The tuning potential for the Cayenne is pretty decent, but be advised that anything above 650 requires new transmission software/hardware. Overall a great truck, but I agree that it is overpriced for what it is.
