What’s this connector? Harmon kardon amplifier 06 E55
Hi I just bought an 06 E55 AMG with a broken radio, it has the Harmon Kardon stereo, I ordered an android head unit on Amazon and while looking for the Amplifier I saw this loose connector, does anyone know where this goes?
also I’ve read in a few places that these cars you must bypass the amp completely or replace the amp, and that getting a fiber optic bypass to keep the stock amp won’t work, can anyone confirm?
Im thinking just bypass the amp for now, then buy a nice 4.1 channel amp to replace it, since the optic bypass is $99 and might not work.
Thanks

Can help too much as my E isn’t close to me right now. I did however just replace the radio in my G55. I used the optical box but there are 2 diff versions and so you have to know which works with your car.
Tbe first had just a power and ground to go with the RCAs and didn’t work. The other has a power/acc power/ground. For whatever reason that one worked and has been fine for the last few weeks. I ordered the Xtrons box’s from Amazon since it listed free return. So easy to send back the one that doesn’t work.
So I kept the stock Harmon amp for now but added a 12” sub. I am thinking come fall to pull the speakers and add a real amp and remove the Harmon.
Lastly there was a extra wire set of 2 from the back of the org radio that was not used on the new one.
