I’d guess 20k+- for what he has. He copied an expensive block and made it bigger… we all know that makes the price bigger.

It would! I would imagine tho VERY few ppl would do this. For the amount of time and money invested, most would have bought another car, or 2 or 3…

20k for the block. I’d imagine things got real expensive quick after.

street value? no...we're seeing Honda 4 cylinder billet blocks go for 10-20k bare depending on where you're getting it. i'm betting either was self machined or a friend helped out as street value of a custom designed billet block is not going to be cheap.

Personal project

My friend owns a High end collision shop. They have an SLR in for front end damage. They pulled the block so we borrowed it.

My business has a Makino 5-axis. We laser scanned the block, then used REcreate software to develop a CAD model. Purchased my raw materials. 5 days later I had a block. Took the block to the machine shop. Used the CAD model to develop the blocks CNC program. Had the final machine work done, sleeved, step decked, oringed, 1/2" stud threads, cam bearings, etc.

That’s helluva leg up you had with those connections! Congrats on the 8 second run!
