Whining sound (probably transmission?)

Hello guys I have not been driving my car too much but when I do I like to downshift to hear the exhaust anyways I have noticed the whining sound that usually happens on all auto cars when downshifting is a little louder then usual. I will post two video links with the sound, hopefully you guys can hear it and point me in the right direction. I suspect its the transmission because it does not happen in park or neutral. My car is a CL55 AMG

Thanks!

All I hear is a lot of exhaust. That car is loud !!
If it does not do it in P/N than could be planetary gears but....you would hear noise all the time and it's rare that they go like that.

Got it. When was the last trans fluid change ? Sounds like the converter is starting to go. That's the sound they make but.....if the filter is "cogged" a little it will starve the pump and converter for fluid and make that noise, sort of, as well.

I have not owned this car long enough to have changed the fluid, but I did some work and I needed to add some new fluid back in. I checked the level and it is still at the max. The transmission still feels the same as it has always felt.

Can you drop the pan and see if there is any "glitter" at the bottom of it. There may not be but may be worth it to check.

I checked mine when it was up to temp and its on the max line. Did yours feel like it was slipping or acting up?

I could try to do that, is it a difficult thing to do?

It was just a whine that matched RPM at first but eventually started slipping or being stuck completely out of gear. When i checked it, the dipstick was dry.

Easy to do...6 bolts and it comes right off. Just drain the pain first by removing the drain plug. Should be minimal mess if any at all.

Alright I took off the pan and I do not see any flakes of metal. The filter is also clean. Could it just be the conductor plate now? It did every symptom of that.

Edit: I took apart the filter and this is what it looks like, the other videos are of the pan. I am getting so may mixed responses, some people say my trans is done and others say its normal wear for the filter to pick that up. I do beat on the trans a lot but it never ran dry, the day it gave the most problem I had actually added more trans fluid so it might have over filled. Let me know what you guys think. I will start with the basic and put a new filter and fluid and see what happens..
