W211 E63 Headbolts updated at factory?

I was told there is a engine number split when the head bolts were updated at the factory and they arent an issue in these cars after this production change.. does anyone have a link to the specs on the engine number split where this occurred. Thanks!

This place is a joke.
Never on a 211, but a 212 E63.

The W212 was equipped with a completely different engine so that doesnt make sense. The NA M156 engine was discontinued with the W211... From what I've read.

2011 is the model year when the headbolt were updated even with 2011 there were some cars with the non updated headbolts, the w211 e63 was discontinued in 2010, thus all of them have bad headbolt I believe. If you want a car similar to a e55, look a 2011 cls63 but still check the vin for bad headbolt.

I just came across some info showing the engines were built well past the end of the 211, soo yah ur right..

so then there's this.. is there any way to tell if the bolts have been replaced from the exterior of the engine? or the cams or the lifters for that matter? Im looking at a car in VA that has 200k miles and the car is immaculate but i have no way of knowing the engine service history...but at that mileage I would have to assume it has been addressed.

Remove the valve cover and check, maybe they have been replaced if the car has 200k miles. Any case, you can use it as bargaining tool if the owner doesn't know if it was done.

im a bigger guy and i have tall kids so a CLS is not even an option. they are a poor excuse for a sedan IMO. but thats neither here nor there... the 09 211 is sadly the only model yr that has all or most all of the options i want and so im in a small pool of potential vehicles.

Sadly the car is over 4 states away from me so opening the engine isnt an option... i may just have to take my chances.. worst case i have the engine repairs completed and drive it for another 200k.

Maybe you should learn some posting etiquette. You sound ignorant.

US MY 2010-2011 E63s (W212) used the M156, since no one stated this explicitly. Then they switched to the M157/M278 turbo nonsense in MY 2012+ pretty much across the board. I think the M156 continued even beyond 2011 in some applications but not in the E or S.

God forbid I dont bow to your idea of what a post should look like.. lmao

Is this the type of person i can expect to associated with at Cars n Coffee or other events I attend in a Benz? I dont get this type of attitude from other Lexus or Audi owners, both of which I own and have been active with for yrs.
The credit I gave you for being correct, I think I'll retract due to you showing "the douche within".. Great way to present the community. I'm actually surprised you didnt just tell me to use search.. which I did anyways and got nothing... but Google searched and got the correct info within this very site.

I'm so sorry for having made you look away from ur COD or whatever the kids are playing these days. Run along now.. you've been totally useless.

As I suspected, you are entitled and have poor social skills. Do a search here, the headbolt production numbers have been covered ad-naseum. The fact that you are shopping a 200k mile E63 tells me you can't afford to maintain one....Now go run off to Twitter or Reddit or wherever it is that entitled ignorant millennials like yourself learn how to poorly conduct yourselves.
Useless? How ironic.....you came in here with an ignorant and bad attitude asking a question that's been answered hundreds of times over the last 12 years. Are your Google skills really that inadequate, or are you just a lazy millennial who expects mommy or daddy to hand you everything without working for it?
You won't get any help here with such a poor attitude. Go get educated and then come back here when you're ready to interact with adults "bro."

The W211 AMG and W204 C63 forums are very fun indeed.
