Were you the one that took them out?

I did this recently on my E63 may be a little different on the E55, but doubt it.

Give my post a look and the videos I posted in the thread.

Those lines need to be snaked through from the sender to the pump basket. Little bit of a pain but the post and videos are pretty spot on for the procedure.

You may need to get the updated wiring connector if you see that the sending unit plug is different on the top when you go to reconnect the electronics.

Keep us posted. Good luck.

2007 Mercedes E63 AMG
some mercedes fuel pump or filter setups changed quick connect fittings with part revisions. if you see a difference you may need to transfer your old ones lines and fittings to your new assembly.

<Sigh> Research first, then spend your money. The E55 is a money-hungry beast...

Your photo shows you have the 2nd generation fuel pumps and a 1st or 2nd generation filter/regulator. Not compatible with each other; 2nd generation fuel pumps will only connect to the 3rd generation filter/regulator and both need adapter harnesses to connect to the OEM electrical harness. You need the following for your car:

-211-470-00-00 Fuel Delivery Module (dual pumps) $411
-211-470-64-94
Tank Inner Module (actually filter and regulator) $489
-211-471-05-79 Fuel Sender Seal x 2 $34

-211-440-05-07 Cable Harness adaptor for filter/regulator $15
-211-540-07-00 adapter cable to dual fuel pumps $15
-Relay 002-542-19-28 $17
-203-997-04-81 foam cushion $1

FCPEuro provides it all for ~$1000. Don't try to go cheap on this. Do it right. And don't forget to replace the pump relay hidden in the trunk. Better yet, pull the 40-amp relay and replace with a 70-amp relay.

I had a missfire code when I did my pumps, I also did the injectors throttle bodies and a few other odds and ends.

My issue was I didnt "prime" the fuel system and I started the car on a decline.

I undid the battery. Let the car sit for an hour then reconnected the battery, put the ignition into acc mode for 60s before cranking. car fired up and I let it idle for 5min before driving, all errors cleared and never came back.
