E55 or 2010 E63

I have currently a 08 e550 that I’m looking to sell in order to get an 06 e55 or a 2010 e63…
the e55 I’m loooking at us 19K with 145K miles .
the e63 has 123K miles .

I understand the e55 motor is bullet proof and also the super charger is what rocks and also more options to Mod…

the e55 is imo a legendary car that will soon be a collectible , so is is why I’m inclined to sell my e550 to get it..

does anyone have an e55 with over 200K miles on it ??

Possible, but probably not, as way too many were manufactured to be collectable.

Depends, E55 is a very dramatic and fun car. E63 is more refined and modern sports car. If your looking for a car to hold its value, maybe the E55 is the right choice unless the E63 is equipped well… as for anyone who has a 200k e55, how about 454k miles, look up theconfortibrothers on Instagram.

I'm over 216,000 miles on my 2005 E55. I do not, however, cheap out on maintenance.

If you are serious about selling your E550, PM me. I've been looking for one for my spouse. She took the 1999 E55 away from me when I bought it, that's why I bought the 2005 E55. Nonetheless, I would like to sit her in a newer vehicle.

No car over 200k miles will be worth anything as a collectible. Or any modded car at any mileage.

If you must have one of these cars, the kompressor engine seems to have aged more gracefully than the M156 with a list of known fairly serious issues.

Small heads up, the M113k is not bulletproof neither is the 722.6 gearbox. These engines are now 17-20 years old and you can pretty much expect most rubber items to be worn by now. Coolant in the oil pan is not that unfrequent, due to O rings in the timing case leaking. Burning oil through the valve stems, due to worn rubber also happens, or the pistons are worn and will burn oil. The fuel pumps on these cars need to be serviced and need attention. If neglected, the engines lean out and will eat the whole engine.

On the 722.643 I've seen a few cases, where the oil pump bearing fails and can eat the transmission. However replacing the pump with the new part number from the 722.9 transmission with a different bearing will take care of that issue.

Any car with 200K miles not collectable. I have many M113 and M113K engines and they are fairy reliable however the 722.6 no so much.
2 years ago I had to rebuild the tranny and radiator. Good luck in your decision.

cheaper to go fast in in an M113k powered vehicle, both great engines, the M113k and M156. the W211 has a more sturdy interior that feels more like a rock versus the W212. The exterior looks of the W212 look more modern but doesn't age as well as the classic W211. new styles die fast where classic designs can life forever hence why the W213 brought back softer curvier lines.
