E55 WAGON WANTED
Hi all, I am eager to get into the W211 platform preferably a WAGON. Yeah, I know...... My W204 C63 has been amazing. Drove a E55 and fell in love. If anyone knows someone or is looking to sell their wagon, please shoot me a PM. Have a super weekend!

- yeah, good luck with the wagon. I've seen three AMG wagons in the last 10 or so years. two were W211s. one was an E63 (I am looking at it now. it's mine.) them other was a perfect E55. these are all super duper rare. BaT has both of the occasionally. I do mean the good luck. I was lucky.

I know, I know. Lost one a month ago because I did not want to pay $56K for 70K miles w problems. There is one in CAN, Japan car that would need importing....ugh.... but I am a patient man.
Did you participate on the BaT auction that closed last evening on a 2006 Black E55 wagon located in New Mexico? Sold for about $29,000.

youre going to be spending upwards of 30k for a e55 wagon.
I bought a e500 wagon that im swapping a m113k into. not a true e55 s211 but at least im not spending a ridiculous amount for no reason. I plan to keep it 4matic till i blow something and afterwards replacing the entire drivetrain from my parts e55.
if you go that route plan to spend 10k total for a parts car and e500,e320 wagon; thats the way to go

Real talk, before paying that for a near 20 year old car, I'd consider getting a S213 E400 (turbo V6) with an AMG package and put a tune on it and maybe lower it and call it a day.
Why? Who are you saving your car for? The next owner to enjoy?
BTW, I almost bought the S213 E450 above for like $40K, but for $7K more, I got a base Panamera. The fit, finish, and driving experience of the Porsche is a couple of notches above the any E-Class that I've driven.

[QUOTE=CQHall;8589818]So, it's just stupid right now. The wagon tax is just high af.

Not a bad Idea, however, when you want a specific car, its hard to settle for something else. I have been arguing with myself saying "I should just get a sedan". But, that's just the child in side that wants a new car NOW! Haha.

It's like the sneaker game. People think the sneaker game is all about having the nicest or rare shoes. But, true OGs know that it's about paying MSRP for the nicest and rarest shoes. Only fools pay all of that markup.
It's understandable for enthusiast cars to be worth more than KBB. But, the "wagon tax" on AMGs is literally stupid right now.
So, maybe play the game by hunting for that E55 wagon with a decent life that's being sold at a sorta reasonable price...or find a more modern offering for similar money. A Weistec tune only can take the turbo V6 M276 to 438hp and 521lb-ft of torque. Those are stock E55 numbers. I don't know much about that car or engine. I'm just going off of my test drive and internet numbers. But, that's a more sensible way to go.
Oh, and if you buy and E55 wagon, you'll probably have to pour even more money into it. I have a 2003 estate and I've poured over $15K into mine after purchasing it less than a year ago. But, I buy OEM and the previous owner didn't care to replace lots of small things.
Good luck with your search. But, I think by now all of the smokin' hot, "they didn't know what they had", E55 wagon deals are long gone.
Oh, and you can get a W211 E500 (V8) for $10K, give or take depending on mileage and condition. Those pop up pretty frequently. You can find a "they didn't know what they had" deal on those...for real.

I'm familiar with that nagging feeling.

The internet hype machine got hold of the E55s in general (rightfully so). But, know that before that hype machine started, you could get a clean E55 for $8K...just because it was "old".
I watched the internet hype machine make the values of Lexus LS430s skyrocket as well. "Grandma cars" that people could get for $5K with 100K miles (that are capable of 300K miles) were going for $15K. Well over $20K for those with low miles and had black on black color schemes (most desirable combo).
More on "the game" (hahaha)...the game now is to find that new classic before the hype catches it. My gut says it's the E400. They aren't hard to find, have a nice body kit, and are highly tunable by manipulating boost...and it's a Benz. The BMW 135i/335i/535i with the twin-turbo inline 6 N54 engines were crazy popular for a few years...and could go from 300hp stock to 400hp with a tune alone and 1,000hp in pro hands. This was the generation before the M3/M4 got twin-turbo inline 6 engines.
I get it, though. Even though these cars might have the AMG body kit and have nice power numbers, the rest of the internals aren't the same. But, it's an option that's out there.
I know that nagging feeling, too. When I had my tuned E60 535i...I always wish I had the M5 😂

Currently at the shop getting a good look over. Found some minor issues to address. Driver door lock machine gun, rear auto gate close is rough, change back to OEM SC pully, brake flush, rotors/pads, PPF front clip.
