M156 Thermostat breather
Hi all, quick question: I shredded a serpentine belt and some idler pulleys, and in the process it knocked/broke the plastic breather tube out of the thermostat housing. Do you guys know if it’s possible to reattach the plastic hose connector, or do I just need to install a whole new thermostat? I can’t tell how it originally attached without pulling it, so thought I’d ask before diving under the hood again.
Thank you!
Thank you!

You need to replace whole thermostat unit.
That is common problem with those M156 engine thermostats.
That hard plastic tube gets very brittle over time.
i just broke mine week ago.
Only touched litlle bit a coolant hose and suddenly something started to leak
Boom that plastic thing broke down.
