Can i supercharge a NA M113?

Hi guys,
I have this , lets call it a dream, of supercharging a regular M113 (e500) with an E55 AMG supercharger that i have and to basically make an M113K.
Now, that said, i know that the M113K has several differences compared to the naturally aspirated M113, the main being the compression ratio of only 9:1 (11:1 in the NA M113) also stronger con rods, different cyllinder head, etc.

So my question is - has someone succeeded in supercharging an M113?
I've seen a thread where a guy managed to complete the hardware transplant, however the SC was not working and the ECU was throwing codes, so i'm asking if someone has done a working swap, or i should just scrap the idea and e-bay the supercharger.

Thanks in advance!

There was a guy here with a thread that did it. From what I remember it didn’t last. I believe the engine gave up after a period of time.

Kleeman has a specific supercharger kit for the M113 in the E class. You may see how they deal with compression and other such issues.

Yes there are a few that have run the m113 into the 600hp plus range with superchargers. The rods are apparently the weak link after that. On the m112k the front timing cover is different , not sure on the m113k. It can be done, but not a popular deal, as it’s expensive when it goes awry.

Honestly man its cheaper and easier to do an engine swap. Ive heavily looked into this to reach my goal of being the fastest in the state but if you just want a fast car and not mod it anymore its not so bad. you will need a clutchless S/C pulley since that was probably the reason the code was being thrown, a custom tune I'd recommend mercedes swap shop (he did mine and it was turn key for my swap) , and honestly to make it easy and affective the stage 3 cooling from VRP (instead of piecemealing it together) since it has the pump, intercooler and whats supposed to separate cooling on the M113K but it will act as your reservoir. Like the others said the M113 is stout but only if you don't push it too hard! I hope this helps man

Also check movies like these, to get an idea about the differences in the engine to support the higher horsepower and torque difference.

It has been done several times to the clk55. I can't see it being worth it for an E500 when you can get an E55. I agree that swapping the entire engine would be easier in the long run as opposed to just the supercharger.

Oh 100%, but I was implying the scarcity, and extreme cost of the 55 in my comment. I own an e500 wagon and an E55 sedan. Combined, they don't have the value of a 55 wagon. But I would totally boost my 500 wagon if it was affordable and safe.

My point exactly. I want a charged wagon, a dad-sleeper however an E55 wagon, even simply running, not a mint one costs 2 arms and a leg. I managed to get an E500 facelift a month ago tho, so i got that covered... still missing the wheeeeee from the SC, but exploring what Kleeman/VRP might offer.

It's been over 2 years now....just do it.LOL Then you can be "that guy" that has that set up !! Plenty of options out there and parts available for sure but expect to pay around 10k or so.
Also way the odds of how much power you will get from the supercharger as well. Do to compresion ratio and fuel octane available you will not be running a lot of boost so to me the cost is a lot for little in return...maybe another 100-125 horsepower safely ??

This guy's been doing it for years. Actually, he's done a lot of fun stuff with turbos, LS swaps, etc. Real interesting stuff.

Main issue is the higher compression on the NA engines. Sure it will work, but not for long. High compression with the added boost will result in the internals breaking.

You can supercharge anything you want - and make it reliable. Just depends how deep your pockets are.
