Is there a way to test the AC compressor to see if it working? My AC just stopped blowing cold without any warning. 2004 E55
When I turned the ac on the current consumption of the compressor was at 700 and the request to component was at 70.

You can put your hand on the two pipes connected to the expansion valve and see if one is cold. But, the best way is to use an appropriate fault reader (MB Star) and see what is going on with the system. There is a lot more to the system than just whether the compressor is 'working'.

Thank you for the quick reply! The pipes are not cold! I connected my Icarsoft MB2 and ran a diagnostic test. Nothing really seemed to jump out at me. There were not any faults listed. I will take a screen shot of what I see on my diagnostic tool and post the results.
Well, I had the system vacuumed down and the refrigerant recovered. System held vacuum with no problem. Then the system was recharged to 2.10 lbs of freon. Tried to operate the ac and the ac/rest light blinks. Compressor issue maybe?

The consumption was 700 what - milliamps? The 70 was - 70%? Was that percentage when the temps for everything including inside the car was in the 35C range?
