So I been having this weird thing where my car simply will not read the oil level on the dash. I'm well aware how to get to the menu, I changed the sensor and it still just does not want to display. So I met a guy on a Facebook group who said that his oil sensor was disabled in his instrument cluster and he was able to correct it with a coding scan tool. So I got a Mercedes specific scan tool and entered that menu and saw that mine was on not off and still was not reading. I went to the ECM mene and did a live data stream of the oil level and it read the oil level in MM both running and off. So the sensor is working just not displaying in the dash cluster. Has anyone had this issue like ever??
Well in case anyone has this issue on the future I have figured it out. Apparently my central gateway was replaced with one out of a W211 with a European spec M257 and not properly coded to the correct model. My oil level now works..
