Leather seat cover replacement issue

GAHH refuses to use the heaters from my seat covers because the foam over the heater element is damaged. They won't repair the foam because they "don't have that kind of foam". So my option at this point is to get decent used covers.
I bought a pair of very good seat bottom cushions but they are from a 2005 E55 and the design of the outboard side of the cushion (and cover) and how the cushions attach is different than 2004. So I will not be using these.
So, on a related topic, will the rails on 2006 E55 seats fit the mount points on a 2004 E55? I am hoping they did not change/improve the seat mounting to the floor between years in the same series.

Technically the seat should fit since their both from a W211 E55, though two year difference. If anything the electrical connectors might have changed, but that's a simple re-pin of the connectors. I was hoping that other E55 owners would chime in, since I'm a E63 owner.

2006 seats do not work in a 2004 E55
I tried this myself. The 2006 seats will fit the 2004 tracks and the plugs will plug in to the controller module. However, electrically they are not compatible. The seat motors and the seat controller modules are different due to the 2006 refresh of the E55.
Once plugged in, the seats will not move. Your fuses will blow. Your panel will throw errors. The car will lose its mind and require a bunch of code resets once the seats are removed.
I also now have a very nice set of 2006 E55 seats.
They will not work in a 2004 E55.

Best seat cushion for Car
When repairing cracks or holes in leather car seats, thoroughly clean the area first before applying a flexible filler compound. Use a plastic applicator to press the compound into the damaged area, then smooth with a spatula. Allow it to cure before gently sanding flush and re-dyeing the leather. 03-04 and 05-06 seats are different electrically. I have a 05, got a complete merlot interior from an 04. While the seat rails are the same, the connectors are different. Both seats I have are heated/cooled/dynamic, so I assumed it would just be plug and play; sadly not.

That's my plan, I'm taking my time since I've never done it before. Currently trying to replace my charcoal interior with a merlot one.

As long as the seat heating and ventilation is the same, you’ll be fine. The wiring on the heaters is tiny so be very careful. It may have to be cut and soldered. My preference for glue if needed is the orange can of permetex, much better than 3m for me. I don’t know if the trim is transferable on the seat tray, but just go slow and it will be tight with no wrinkles.
pro tip - steam the foam. Watch some videos on this. It is an amazing way to restore the foam and is a game changer for seat quality and fit.
