After a visit up north over the weekend i’ve been driving 150 km/h plus on backroads cruisin and vibin.
After my return home I noticed a constant ticking noise that’s only audible on Idle and doesn't seem to get any louder at higher rpm’s. Ive diagnosed it as dirty/faulty injector(s), although I’m nothing near a mechanic. Has anybody experienced the same issue? / Is my diagnosis plausible? Will be updating this thread with my repairs and conclusions along the way.
Attached also is a thread from E55 Tick on Idle although I doubt this is the cause since the sound seems to be coming from right underneath the surge tanks.
I just chose the 630cc injectors as a replacement part because I do plan on modding the engine in the future. Doesn’t seem to make sense if I were to just purchase the OE Injectors.
Also check the EVAP solenoid(s), not sure if there are 1 or 2. I know for a fact there is one near the drivers side headlight. I believe they tick when operating
