what will the dealer try and sell me when i pickup my new e55?
Hey guys,
I pick up my new e55 in about 3 weeks. What will the dealer try to sell me as extras (e.g. paint sealer, extra warranty, etc.). You can see below the options that I paid for already.
My question to the group is, what are these options that he will try to sell me, what is worth it, and what is not?
Thanks,
Gareth

The only other option I could think of that you could get that is handy would be a 3M protection for your front area (include headlight protection) and side mirrors of the E55...paint chip protection.
Another is window tint.
Good luck and have fun on your new rocket sled.

The accessories guy at my dealer showed me the MP Designs Sport steering wheel - and I promptly took him up on his offer:

Absolutely no regrets - the thin-rimmed stock wheel just seems out of character on this car, IMO.

Paid WAY too much - $1,895 installed, but it was one of those "gotta have it & have it now" things.
IIRC, autowerks direct has it for $1,199 and the installation is a straightforward DIY project.

This is almost funny. At 3 new car deliveries, including my own, the only thing that was even mentioned was that I had a year to get the extended warranty from MB. No other garbage was even mentioned. Maybe they just know not to play games with us..I have no idea.

If you are planning to buy the car I would strongly suggest the extended warranty. Driving a SC engine with this much performance and not buying the warranty seems foolish. Not to mention that when you sell the car it will make it that much more attractive to the new buyer.
My 2 cents......

With the last three cars I have purchased, I have been offered wheel/tire protection and a paintless dent repair policy. I have generally passed on both, since I usually get rid of cars pretty quickly.

Which dealership are you purchasing the car from? Paint protection film (aka "clearbra") is one of the items that they will sell to you. It does not matter whether you purchase this at the dealership level or at a paint protection film dealer.......it's a good idea to get it soon. Rocks and road debris can hurl at a car's front end at speeds of up to 150mph.
