New PS Fluid, now Squealing?

I started into a small job, refreshing PS fluid, and somehow managed to screw that system up.

Following a great DIY from here on the forum : 2 quarts of new fluid, car off with wheels jacked up, return hose fed into catch can and return inlet plugged, turning lock to lock to with car off, reservoir never anywhere close to run dry, thought I was all set.

I restarted car, and now the car squeals loudly when any steering input given. I assume the noise is the pump not the rack. I've tried going lock to lock with car on since, not getting any better. The old fluid was pretty bad (black).

I didn't see any bubbles with the car off, but there were lots of bubbles in the reservoir after I turned the car on. Couldn't figure that out, as I had gone lock to lock with car off to bleed it about 50 times. I didn't touch anything else, so hard to imagine air getting in?

So I wondered if somehow new fluid blew a seal in there? I would have otherwise assumed I Seems like I'm in for a $350 new pump.

I used the same method without issues, the only difference is that I also replaced the reservoir with a new one. Reason being that the reservoir also holds a non-serviceable filter.

Buy some extra fluid and see how the current fluid comes out. I would also consider doing it again, also replacing the reservoir.

Update : Thanks folks.

New reservoir in, and I fixed my bleed procedure. I think previously the little dipstick on the reservoir was reading high with teh car elevated, and I was in fact low. So I kept it much more full, and bubbles disappeared (after 2hrs of bleeding)

I agree on the reservoir. The filter in mine was packed solid with "crud". I was able to clean it, but replaced it with a new one anyway.
