Is it just me who think the E55 or W211 in general looks good only in Black?

E55 Flint Grey/Merlot
I agree with you that certain cars look better in certain colors, but I like the E55 a lot in Tectite and White.

Black is elegantly attractive in almost any car, but having had a black Acura NSX, I'll never buy a black car again because of the greater maintenance requirements and my location in the Sun Belt. I think that the E55 looks very good in silver.

By the way, I understand that steering in the new CLS55 has been improved over the E55 and that those changes will almost immediately take place in the E55. Has anyone heard this?

Yes, I have heard this as well. The car mags say that the CLS steering will be in the E55 for anu 11/04 production. the questions that remains on this board is "does that mean US, Europe, or both?

What about the exterior? Do you think black or silver will hide those obnoxious headlights better?

I did have a question for all those M5 experts out there.
I understand if you hit the M button, all the HP are there and it switches all the settings to your preferences (like ready to race at a stop light). But lets say you are now done with your quick launch at the light and want to now switch back to more of a "comfort" driving (automatic shifting, softer suspensioni, dsc back on and so forth), do you have to do all these setting manually or can you hit the M button again to go back to the previous settings?

I think that Silver will better hide dirt, pollen, and the headlights.

It's my understanding that depressing the M button again returns the car to its previous settings.

Got a possible link to that info? Since I've got a "second decade" December build date on my replacement E55, it'd be great to know that the updated steering will be included!
