W211/219 Full Seat Wiring
Hi everyone. This is likely going to be a stupid question or request, but I sold my CLS55 but have the front seats from it. I’d like to retrofit them into a non-Mercedes vehicle, but a few problems immediately come to mind.
1) Motors - these are controlled through the canbus system via door switch. Any reasonable solutions for wiring up a different seat control?
2) Air bladders - they are garbage on these so I planned to replace them, but is there any reasonable method to retrofit the functionality if I buy a functioning air pump and install in the trunk? No idea where to start here. I would also like to figure out some magical way to still utilize the massage function, but I know that’s controlled through the canbus system as well, correct?
3) Seat heaters - I would love to get these to function, but they were canbus controlled as well. Is it as simple as tapping in with an adjustable universal heated seat switch that sends varying voltage up to 12v to the elements? Or is it more complicated than that?
4) Cooling Fans - This seems pretty straight forward. I’m guessing tap into the wires and supply varying voltage up to 12v to control these?
Main priority is getting adjustability function so I can adjust seat position and tilt. I’m hoping for some constructive suggestions but I’m not going to hold my hopes up TOO high.
