HELP E55 Supercharger cuts off once warmed up with no intake temp high code

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum, I have a 2004 E55, and my problem is I have recently changed the IC pump with a bosch 010, before that, I was getting a high air intake temp code and now it's not showing that code but the supercharger is acting in the same way, I have re-bled the system but still having the same issue. the only thing changed now is my SC comes back again in random intervals. I do have a bad ambient temperature sensor which I'll be fixing soon but I need any other ideas on where can I look while I'm at the workshop. Thanks for all the help.

Double check if the IAT sensor is properly functioning, its right under the TB and can be swapped pretty easily. If you buy one new, just buy at the dealer

Thanks for the reply man, I have checked my air intake temps and they are around 107F after the first pull with SC working and then on the second pull they get down to 95F with SC cut off.

Coolant temp is around 185F

Ok ok, verified that its working correctly. Im not sure if the ambient temp sensor has any influence on the supercharger operation though...

I have read some article on the internet which got my attention to that sensor, currently it's showing - 40c outside temp and according to that article it leads to the ecu cutting out SC because of the difference b/w outside temp and the intake temp. Not sure if it's correct or not.

Yes it’s the ambient sensor giving you issues

Outside Air Temp is part of the speed density calculation that the ECU does in order to properly fuel the motor. the car will NOT run correctly without a properly functioning OAT sensor“

I changed my OAT sensor today but it's still showing - 40c, checked the wires Till front SAM. Everything looks good, is it possible the issue is with SAM, I've check the same sensor on another 211 and it was working perfectly.

If sensor readout is -40 C, bad connection or broken wire. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. In my case, it was a loose socket connector on the temperature sensor.
Try a temporary jumper with a pair of wires with original wires' connectors unplugged. Just crimp socket connectors onto the wires and insulate if needed. Takes a few minutes but assists the troubleshooting.
Try buzzing out the lines for continuity while flexing the electrical harness. Helps to find intermittent connections so you can repair.

Thanks for the reply bro. Here we have taken out the wire for this temperature sensor directly from the fuse box and put the sensor and it's still showing error as "open circuit" not sure what to do next.

See the included photo and attached .pdf.
The Outside Air Temperature sensor located in the bumper is used for the HVAC (see attached .pdf). It does not appear to be used for the intake air temperature calculations (see included photos).
I'll see about searching in the schematics to see if I can locate more info. Be advised the schematics can be tedious to review...
