Who Knows About RMT Air Suspensions From Florida

Anyone have experience with RMT (rebuildmastertech.com) out of Florida? They rebuild MB and other manufactures air suspension struts and springs. They have a warranty and competive pricing, but I don't know if they deliver a quality product and stand behind it. Any comments welcomed.

When I recently replaced my rear suspension I looked into RMT struts and read the reviews, a lot of failures. I just purchased Mercedes parts. Too much time and labor to trust on questionable parts.

I used these guys. Good prices, fast shipping.

Thank you for this. I need front struts and, apparently, MB no longer provides the right front strut for the E55/CLS55. So, to go with pairs, I have to go with something other than MB. I don note that MB does still sell front struts for the 2007 - 2009 E63 with the P30 performace option, but MB will not sell parts that are specifically intended for the subject car.

I purchased one last August. The link I listed shows they have them.

The 55 38 is availble but not the right side 54 38. This is consistent between the two sites. Your number in my part catalog states it is for 211 cars with option 'Z04 Reinforcement on Special Protection Version'. Also, curious how those numbers are used on a number of 211 class models, not just the AMG model. I suspect those other models also would have the Z04 option. All of that has to do with the 211 plaform and none of that comes up on the 219 platform which problably never had the Z04 option available. With the MB requirement that they will only sell parts for the specific buyers' car, I can't order those for my 219 just as I can't order the E/CLS 63 P30 struts.

You can call them up and ask them. They are quite knowledgeable.

I use them as well but as far as price it's hard to beat the Mercedes Parts Center. The are typically 30-50% cheaper than the dealer and they are OEM.

Do not buy RMT air suspension struts. They suck, just because something is cheap doesn’t mean it’s the best. Stick with OEM/Bilsteins or Arnotts.

Update - Left front strut will not hold air. Looking around and finding a lot of negative comments about new (Arnottt) and rebuilt (Arnott & RMT) I decided to go with MB. Unfortunately, the right strut is no longer available and the left is very spotty on availability. I called the online MB parts seller I use and asked, due to the lack of availability of the spec parts, if they would sell me the 2007 - 2011 CLS63 struts speced for the P30 option. They agreed, but when they checked on availability they found both struts are still listed as available, but there is no inventory here in the US or in Germany. Back to square one.

Arnott rebuilt ones are good, at least on my car and my friends. The new ones that aren’t rebuilt so they do not have the ADS since it’s not using OEM internal struts. If you’re worried about them just buy it from FCP, lifetime warranty so eliminates the headache if it goes bad.
