Automatic trunk closure

Automatic trunk closure
Anyone know how to reset the automatic trunk closure? I have look everywhere to include the owners manual and can’t find a clear answer. For context it worked completely fine like 4 months ago but I can’t seem to not mess with things and now when I am standing at the trunk and press the button to close the trunk it starts in operation but then stops halfway down as if it’s restricted to a certain height. Any help would be much appreciated.

Normalizing is no more than using the button in the driver side door. Keep the button on open for 5 seconds, and then on close for 5 seconds.
If it does strange things after, check the cabling in the hinge which is known to snap. This was my situation...

If the above mentioned normalizing does not work, look in the driver side near the hinge (behind the trim, on the wall) for a black sensor that rotates with the trunk. ITs basically on the arm of the motor. IF you remove the sensor, you be be able to tell if it spun out of range, perhaps if someone slammed the trunk and did not use the button. You can just twist the sensor back to correct, and then reinstall. I never had an issue after doing this, and the trunk must be closed slowly by hand, or always by the button. Normalization is slightly different with keyless go. You can try opening from the driver side, do not hold, go to trunk and make sure it is fully open, if not push it open manually, go back to door button and hold open for ten seconds, go to trunk and press the keyless go closing red button for closing, then try it from as normal. Lastly, make sure the springs for the hinges are in the correct holes.
