Black car with blackedout grill?

Can anyone post an E class with blacked out grill? I'm thinking to do so, or not!

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of this, to mine, just to keep it looking different from the others.

Ohh okay. I wouldn't do that to the headlights. I'd rather have eye-lids. I have a softspot for menacing looking sleepers.

I was thinking about smoking the headlights, just a LITTLE, to put a hint of darkness in them.

What about putting those one way translucent covers?

If you do it right, I bet it'd look WICKED cool at night. You could also put in some very dim red LED's in key points in the car so at night, well you can let your imagination run wild!

Smoking the headlights might dim your output, but like you said, if just a little, I doubt anything bad will come.

Just paint the stock wheels and polish the lips.
That was my plan...

Nah, I'd want the bolts. You can get the normal 3-piece AMG rims from the dealer and have them paint the centers the color of the 65 series wheels. At least thats what my dealer said he'd do for me. Plus its cheaper. But the SL65 wheels do in fact fit on the E class. There was a post by someone selling them a while back. The CL's however, I don't believe will fit.

Actually, I was looking at doing the same thing (blacking out the grill).

Could someone do a photochop to the front of my car and black out the grill so we could see what it would look like?

Sounds good to me.. I deal with the Mercedes Benz in Aurora.. They have a great service department and the managers are awesome there. I know them well.

Vrus,

For mine, I was thinking instead of blacked out, I was going more for the black chrome look.

That looks pretty cool!!! The picture on my website shows the emblem on the hood, but I since then put the flat hood emblem like your photochop.

I think I am going to black out the grill and try and find a way to get rid of the chrome accents in the bumpers. I prefer the clean black look rather than having chrome strips in the bumpers.

Thanks for the photoshop jobs guys!

Watch out if you're going to have the chrome on your impact strips painted. Two reasons. First, if you do it and don't paint the chrome trim anywhere else on the car, you're going to have an 0ff-balance paint job and somethings gonna look screwy. The second reason is that a tech. at CEC (which is a pretty damn good bodywork shop) was telling me how incredibly hard it is to paint those strips let alone take them off. Make sure you find someone good to do it if you get it done. Other than that, good luck and I can't wait to see it!
