i think if it was an issue with a stock amg engine then MB would have done it in the factory. if you plan on doing some work to the engine, then maybe it would be a good idea unless youre going just for looks

I was thinkin about doing the brabus EV12 hood cut outs but I still haven't figured out how to redirect water ( rainy days) away from the engine. I wouldn't want rain fallin into the vents and just dropping away on the engine now...
Keep me posted I may be interested in doing something like this as well...

I dont think water would be an issue. Rain is gonna get in there no matter what while driving. And I wouldnt count on MB ventnig the hood on necessity. The E55's intercooling system is a far cry from great.

heres a whacky idea, cut some holes where arrows are. say the size of a round door knob drill bit (3-4"). getting a drill in their seems impossible without engine removal. plasma cutter maybe with a protective shield on the back so as not to hurt anything on the back side. air flows through grill, throught engine compartment to venting directly behind supercharger and flows out the already massive vent at top of hood?!?! my sl hood cut out is 1/3 the size and is in FRONT of where the sc would be. the engine compartment has a seal around it. the only place for air to go is under the car now. so imagine holes for the air to escape? or ever stupider, er,,, smarter...rig up some mini exhaust fans on a thermostat to automatically come on when it gets too hot. works for the front of the engine. ill take my nobel prize for engineering now plz!
