Tire Smoke Smell??

Oh yeah...350Z kill this AM on the way to deposit some $$$....idiot.

Anyway, after this kill I slow down and start to smell something sweet in the interior. As a 2 decade drag fan, I could swear it was the sweet smell of rubber like when Top Fuels/Funnies do there famous burns. Question (considering I am a Newbie to the Beast).....when you do a hard lauch, are the tires lightly smoking (even the famous Cobra/55 video showed no smoke) ....I get worried that is also Mobile 1 I am smelling too. No leaks underneath....running great cept for blower noise once and awhile.

Anyone have similiar experience....and as always I LOVE THIS F)(*&)(*IN CAR!!!

03 55 Stock 14K

Bought used but mint!!

I have noticed the same....

I recently switched to my snow Michll. Pilot Alpins on stock wheels, anything beyond 15-20% of throttle on launch causes the ESP light to engage and the nast $$$ up in smoke smell.

I noticed that same rubber smell last few weeks after going back to my stock 18"rims with my winter tires. My ESP comes on so easy since my rear tire is a 245 which I assume is causing that smell.

I guess thats what happens when we have so much power

Funny Pete....seriously though...you can smoke the tires on the 55??? I thought the 55 wouldn't do it with ESP on always on guard.....

Gonna have to try it before I put my PS2's on.

Oh yes, you can light the E55's tires up big time. Thats what I did with the stock Continentals before getting some PS2's Sure was a thrill, though it scared the hell out of the people on the street and the mustang next to me at the red light. But it was pure bliss and euphoria for a few moments. ESP can help but it cant prevent the tires from spinning with all that power. :p

I would never do this again with my PS2's or my Pilot Sport A/S. These Michelins are just too damn expensive to burn like that
